The oo cluster is similar to a u sound. /U /

The ou cluster is usually a short o with a 
rounded w sound. /aU /

El agrupamiento ou es usualmente una o corta redondeada con un sonido w.

loud, mouth, house, out, noun

It is hot.    The house is small.    The music is loud.

It costs five pounds.    Where is the mop?     I see a mouse.

There are other vowel clusters which cause problems for students. For example the i and e vowels. I used before e is usually a long e sound.

Hay otros agrupamientos vocales que causan problemas a los estudiantes. Por ejemplo, las vocales i y e. I utilizada antes de e es usualmente un largo sonido e.

believe, thief, chief

The e vowel before i after the c consonant is usually 
a long e sound.

La vocal e utilizada antes de la i despues de la consonante c es usualmente un sonido e largo.

receive, deceive, receipt

However the e vowel before i is usually similar to a 
long a sound.

Sin embargo,la vocal e antes de la i es usualmente similar a un largo sonido a.

Usually the c consonant has a hard sound as a k.

It often has a soft sound. For example with the h
consonant it is usually soft.

Frecuentemente tiene un sonido suave. Por ejemplo con la consonante h es usualmente suave.

cheese, choose, chair, check, chop

Sometimes the g consonant has a soft sound as 
a j, especially with the e vowel.

Algunas veces la consonante g tiene un sonido suave como el de j, especialmente con la vocal e.

genius, gem, gentle, generous, margarine

The p consonant is usually hard. But with an h  consonant it is soft as an f sound.

La consonante p es usualmente dura. Pero con una consonate h es tan suave como un sonido f.

I take photos.    The pen is there.    Tom is here.

The van is outside.    I like zebras.     This is your toy.

Lesson 10:    The Consonant Cluster th

                     El agrupamiento consonante th

The t consonant is also almost always hard. But with the h consonant it is soft.

La consonante t es casi siempre dura. Pero con la consonante h es suave.

The th cluster is one of the most difficult soundsfor students. Look at the picture below and try to understand how the sound is produced.

El agrupamiento th es uno de los sonidos mas dificiles para los estudiantes.Observa el cuadro abajo y trata de comprender como se produce este sonido.

Es necesario colocar la lengua justo abajo de los dientes frontales superiores y luego exhalar un poco de aire a traves de la boca. Cuando se empieza a producir el sonido th,la lengua se despega de los dientes. Practica esta tecnica para evitar el sonido z cuando trates de utilizar el agrupamiento th.

The th cluster in the middle of words is a little softer.

El agrupamiento th en medio de una palabra es un poco mas suave.

mother, father, together, weather, another

At the end of words the th cluster is soft with a slight 
release of air. It is important not to express the ending 
too strongly.

Al final de una palabra el agrupamiento th es suave con una ligera liberacion de aire. Es importante no expresar el final demasiado fuertemente.

bath, tenth, math, with, fifth

My son is three.    I want this hat.     These are your books.

She is my mother.    I like math.    The weather is nice.
