Summary

English pronunciation is sometimes difficult and not always consistent.
It is important to try to understand some rules of speech which can help you.
There are many words in English which are simply not pronounced as they
are spelled. And the phonetic examples in these lessons will not always be
the same with other words. However, this guide can serve as a reference for
the way many words are pronounced. So we began with some typical vowel
and consonant sounds. Try to read and pronounce all the words. Don't worry
if you don't know all the words or expressions. For now just try to understand
how basic sounds are formed.

This guide is an attempt to introduce learners to English sounds.
After some time the spelling and pronunciation of words will be easier to
understand. It is also important to use the ear. It is, after all, how young
children learn. Practice listening to words and repeating them.
