Lesson 6: Each Other
We often call each other. Each other is used to express reciprocal action on the part of both speakers.
When we say We always give each other gifts it means that the people give gifts to one another. I give you a gift, and you give me a gift. Exercise 6 Use each other to make sentences below.
Lesson 7: Like
I like my neighbors very much. The verb like is often used in English. When it is used with another verb, the preposition to must follow.
It isn't correct to say, for example, I like read. You must say I like to read. Exercise 7 Look at the pictures and make sentences with like to and the verbs below.
Answers 1. He likes to read. 2. They like to dance. 3. He likes to travel. We can sometimes also use like
with verbs in a different way. I like to go for a walk. OR I like going for a walk. She likes to listen to music. OR She likes listening to music. It doesn't matter how you use like in the examples above, because the sentences are the same in meaning. Exercise 8 Change the sentences below to use the -ing ending. Lesson 8: The Object
Pronouns II
I don't know him. Let's continue studying the object pronouns. Usually English speakers place the clause very much at the end of the sentence.
It sounds unnatural to say, for example, She very much likes him. Try to remember to place the clause very much at the end of the sentence after the noun or pronoun. I go to work by car. English speakers use the prepostion by when talking about means of transport.
Of course it is possible to use a different verb.
