Who saw Mary? Who did Mary see?    

The question word who (and sometimes what) can be 
used as both the subject and
object of a sentence.

Oliver knows Jane.

Who knows Jane? Who does Oliver know?

Look at how answers are formed.

Who loves Sandra? Martin does.  Who broke the lamp?  Peter did.
Who does Martin love? He loves Sandra.
Who did Peter call? He called Rebecca.

Exercise 10     Answer the questions. SPEAK!

2. Who did you meet at the airport? (Bill)  

3. Who did Phillip give the money to? (Howard)  

4. Who came to the party? (Janet and her boyfriend)

Would you like to go?

There + Be is often used to talk about future events.

There's a football game on TV tonight.
There's a concert in the park tomorrow.

Remember that Would you like ...? is used for invitations.

Would you like to go to the movies?
Would you like to go out to a restaurant?

Look at the dialog.

A: There's a British film on at the International Film Festival 
this Thursday. Would you like to go?
B: Sure. What's it called?
A: It's called
My Crazy Neighbor.
B: What time does it start?
A: It starts at
7:00.
B: Sounds great. Let's go.
